State of the Art Medical Robots
September 12, 2009Are Cell Phones Killing Bees?
September 1, 2009Colony Collapse Disorder, the broad term for the reason 60% of bee colonies have died out since 2005, has been blamed on fungus and parasites, but now there’s another culprit.
Dr. Sainudeen Pattazhy, a Reader in Zoology from Kerala, India, found the following:
“When a mobile phone was kept near a beehive it resulted in collapse of the colony in five to 10 days, with the worker bees failing to return home, leaving the hives with just queens, eggs and hive-bound immature bees.”
Seems like a huge finding, but what the hell is a Reader in Zoology? Maybe someone can comment on this man’s accreditation.
